Letter number 1/552 (issued on 19/07/1888, the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople), by Patriarchal representative Simeon Meferents, addressed to V. Rev Movses Gyoumrougjian, Prelate of Aleppo, asking him to approach the governor of Kilis in a friendly way, in order to confirm Kevork Efendi Bayramian in the position of member of the court, for which he was elected five months ago, but did not yet receive the final consent of the Ottoman authorities.
The Patriarchal representative expresses concern, that if this step is not taken, then someone else (a Catholic), who has received less number of votes, might be appointed to the position.

Introducing Azad-Hye Research Center

Azad-HyeResearchCenter is the first Armenian research center in the Gulf region. Established in August 2009 it will try to sponsor, foster and develop research topics related to the Armenians in the Gulf region or elsewhere in the world. It will cover historical and current subjects.
Researchers are welcome to send their works. We will highlight their contribution, promote their scientific / academic work and make it accessible to the Armenian and foreign readers in a comprehensive language.
We can provide advise and contact resources to those who need to study certain topics.
Another domain we can be useful at is in creating bridges between the Armenians in communities worldwide and Armenia, without forgetting also to involve foreign researchers in our efforts.
The ResearchCenter will be able to post all works presented to it and will try to develop certain research topics such as the history of the Armenians in the Middle East. It will also recommend works for hard copy publication and distribution.
Your contribution as a researcher is important. You are invited to share your work with the readers. If your work is in Armenian, we can post it with a synopsis in English.
There are so many things to do together in this context, so let us hope that this message will be read and appreciated by colleagues who appreciate the significance of introducing an Armenian research center in Dubai.
