Set in the post-Soviet period, following the Armenian-Azeri conflict, "Border" is the story of a village near the conflict zone, where an American benefactor of Armenian descent opened a charitable canteen and a nearby farm, where refugees work the land.

The story begins when the villagers find an injured buffalo. They bring the buffalo to the farm, where it recovers. We follow the changing seasons and the monotony of village life through its eyes.
