President Robert Kocharian will be paying an official visit to the United Arab Emirates from 11-13 December 2007, during which he will preside the inauguration ceremony of the new Embassy premises and Ambassador's residence in the Diplomatic Quarter in Abu Dhabi.

Minister Oskanian follows the process of construction:
On his back from a three week diplomatic tour which included several major cities (New York, Boston, Brussels, Luxemburg) Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian made a two days stop on 18 October 2007 in the United Arab Emirates, during which he visited the construction site of the new Embassy building. He also met officials in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed details of the upcoming visit of President Kocharian to the UAE in December 2007. During a side trip to one of the developing seven emirates Oskanian met with Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and discussed the increasing cooperation between Ras Al Khaimah and Armenia, especially in economic, tourism and commerce sectors. Rakeen, one of the leading real estate developers in Ras Al Khaimah has ambitious plans regarding real estate investments in Armenia and neighboring Georgia.
Back in Yerevan Minister Oskanian held a press conference on 25 October 2007 during which he described his visit to the UAE. "The construction of the Armenian embassy in the United Arabic Emirates is close to end. In fact, this will be one of our best embassies. It is a very prestigious building, constructed with Armenian tuff. In December, the embassy will be ceremonially opened", he said.
The embassy is built on funds donated by the Armenian community. The space is provided by late President Zayed during the first visit of President Kocharian to Abu Dhabi in 2002.
Under the leadership of His Highness the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi placed at the disposal of the Republic of Armenia a plot of land located in the embassies area of Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates.
H.E. Robert Kocharian, President of the Republic of Armenia immediately responded by a similar reciprocal gesture in Yerevan, capital of the Republic of Armenia.
The Armenian community in the U.A.E. and the Gulf countries express their gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Khalifah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan
, President of the UAE, for his support to ensure the smooth realization of this project.
As per the directives of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia (Antelias-Lebanon), the Armenian community in the UAE has taken up the responsibility of financing the design, construction and completion of the Embassy building complex.
A committee comprised of the following community members supervised the realization of this important project within the anticipated time frame: Varouj Nerguizian (chairman), Hrayr Soghomonian (member), Berj Aprahamian (member), with the contribution of Bedros Aslanian, Haygaz Tahmasian, Salah Hariri (Architectural Consultant, "Spectrum Engineering Consultants") and Ara Khanoyan (Contractor, "Al Ryum Contracting and General Transportation Est.").
