Destruction of Katchkars: Movie clips added! Wednesday, June 28, 2006

Two movie clips are online now, showing how the soldiers destroy and carry away the khatchkars.

We have tried to provide the best quality possible but due to the already poor quality of the original amateur video we have not been able to improve it much better than the versions online.

But as you understand, the content of the movies are far more important than their quality.

The movies are added in the same section as the article, above the images. Visit http://www.armenica.org and click on the link or the picture on the first page to watch the movies.

With best regards,

Armenica website develops collection on historical maps and images of churches and monasteries Tuesday, June 27, 2006

For some time ago we started working on a new section containing images of cities. It did not take a long time before the section had grown to a full collection, which has delayed the introduction by far.

Nevertheless, the new Collection section is now online, initially containing 41 historical maps and images and information regarding 12 churches and monasteries, among others St Etchmiadzin, Gayane, Hripsime, Haghpat, Haghartzin, St Thaddeus and others. We will continue to fill the new section with new updates as well as new objects.

Click here to visit the new collection section or visit http://www.armenica.org

We hope the you will find the new section interesting and useful.

We wish all our visitors a great sunny summer.

GibraHay youth website acquires a new website Friday, June 09, 2006

Dear Friends and Fellow Electronic Media Resources,

We would kindly like to bring to your attention that GibraHay Youth has acquired a new website which could be found at www.gibrahayyouth.com.

As one of our principal initiatives, we are doing our best to bring the community youth together by organizing various events. One of our set targets is to get the youth and others in the community to be checking out our new website (hence the introduction of the ".com" address), which already offers info about upcoming events and other attractions as well, such as the GibraHay Youth Monthly Competition. More information about the Monthly Competition can be found on our website www.gibrahayyouth.com.

We acknowledge that it is a hard task to get all community members to sign up for such a thing that is why we are making the best use of the local media resources, whether it be  newspapers or electronic, available to us out there (Artsagang, Azad Tsayn, Gibrahayer e-magazine, Hayem.org).

Iraqi pop band in Jordan Thursday, May 25, 2006

I just want to send to the readers of Azad-Hye some updates about the band ("Unknown to No One"). We are all in Jordan now and we did an interview with Reuters and it was in the area of the Dead Sea; something very nice; they will show it in one of the English channels which I don't know but will soon get a copy of it.

After ten days we will go to Lebanon to do a video clip there and hope it will be good.

Will keep briefing you about our activities.

I want to get more information about activities and gatherings in Abu Dhabi Thursday, May 25, 2006

Dear Friends,

Warm Greetings.

First of all, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Edward Reizian, I live in Abu Dhabi since May 2005 (a year earlier in Dubai) and I was totally surprised, yet amazed that there is an Armenian Society, obviously active, which is something I truly miss.

It all came by coincidence and after searching in the web, I found out about Azad-Hye and the things included, the school, I mean WOW, I missed a lot already and I hope I donít miss more.

I want to get more information about activities, gatherings; also if there is anything I can support the community with in my field.

Looking forward to hearing from you and if there is anything I can be involved with, please let me know, it would be my pleasure.

Regards,
