Let me first start out by introducing myself.  My name is Barry Peters and I'm an American living in Bahrain.

I've been here for a few years and recently met and have subsequently become engaged to a beautiful woman named Liana from Yerevan during my most recent trip to Armenia during the Christmas / New Year holidays.  

We hope to be married some time in 2010, but the paperwork will probably be the major roadblock to achieving this milestone.

The reason I'm writing you is because I found your name on the UAE Armenian website and wanted to touch base to find out if you might know of any Armenians living in Bahrain.

Liana arrived here to the island last week and I'd like to begin the acclimation process by also providing her links to some of her countrymen / women, as we are planning to live here for several years.

I am so glad that I came across your website. It brings back a lot of memories. I attended the Youzbashian Gulbenkian school in Amman, Jordan, and graduated in 1988.

My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Dikranouhy. She was a great teacher. It is so anjoyable looking at the pictures of the school.

St. Thaddeus Armenian Church in Amman

I was surprised when I first heard that there is Armenian minority in Kuwait from an Armenian friend of mine here in Australia, whose father migrated from Kuwait post the Iraqi invasion. I did a little research and found this website.

Frankly, I am saddened by the fact that many have left Kuwait and there are only 4000 Armenians left in Kuwait.

But anyway, Kuwait & Armenia friends forever.

Memories of my childhood came to me. I was surprised to know that the orphanage called Badsbaran which I knew so well some sixty five years ago still exists. Bravo to the Prelacy and ARS for their support.
